COLCA CANYON 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
DAY 1: AREQUIPA / MIRADOR DE TAPAY / SAN JUAN DE CHUCCHO
They are picked up from 03:00 am to 03:30 am from the hotel to move to the Colca Valley, the trip will take us approximately 4 hours to Chivay (main town of the Valley) where a stop will be made for breakfast and then the trip to Cabanaconde will continue ( two and a half hours more journey) from where we will start our walk, descending to the Colca Canyon, which will take us approximately 3 ½ to 4 hours, during the tour we will be able to appreciate, as we descend the diverse vegetation between Andean and tropical, and also the geological formation of the Colca Canyon, part of the formation of the Andes mountain range. Once at the bottom of the canyon we will cross the suspension bridge of San Juan de Chuccho, to arrive at the town of the same name, where we will spend the night, in the homes of the settlers, equipped to serve the tourists (basic accommodation)
DAY 2: SAN JUAN / SANGALLE (OASIS): We will have breakfast and then start our tour again, ascend 300 meters approximately and then arrive at the villages, first of Cosnihua and then Malata; where the way of life of the people will be appreciated, very characteristic, because in these towns there is no access to vehicular transport. Again we will descend towards sangalle (oasis), place made by the Andeans, full of high Andean vegetation mixed with tropical vegetation,
where thanks to a spring of warm water you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pools located in this beautiful place (the waters have a temperature of about 18 º C) lunch, and spend the second night in basic cabins.
DAY 3: OASIS / CABANACONDE / CHIVAY / AREQUIPA
04:30 am will begin the ascent, it is a zigzag path and quite slope, but after 3 hours approximately we will have the satisfaction of finishing this beautiful route. Breakfast will be taken at a local restaurant and then take the mobility and go to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Cóndor, from this famous viewpoint you have one of the most impressive views of the Colca Canyon and from where you can usually see the impressive flight of the condors, return to Chivay, having the opportunity to visit the calera and enjoy the relaxing thermal waters. Lunch and return to Arequipa, arriving between 5 pm and 6 pm.
