04:00 – 08:30 | Pickup in Cusco – Drive to Mollepata – Breakfast
Your adventure begins very early in the morning with pickup from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m.
From there, we begin a scenic drive of approximately 2 hours toward the picturesque village of Mollepata (2,803 m.a.s.l.).
During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Andes, including green valleys, towering mountains, and small traditional villages. Upon arrival, you will enjoy an energizing breakfast, perfect for starting the day with energy and enthusiasm.
09:00 – 12:00 | Soraypampa – Hike to Humantay Lake
After breakfast, we continue by transportation to Soraypampa (3,800 m.a.s.l.), the starting point of the hike.
Here begins the ascent toward the majestic Humantay Lake (4,200 m.a.s.l.), located within the impressive Vilcabamba Mountain Range.
- Hiking Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
- Difficulty Level: Moderate (gradual ascent)
Along the trail, you may observe Andean wildlife such as alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas, as well as native high-altitude vegetation. Weather permitting, you will also enjoy privileged views of the snow-capped mountains:

These mountains are considered sacred “Apus,” or protective mountain spirits, within the Andean worldview.
