The Uros and Taquile Full-Day Tour from Puno is an experience designed to discover the cultural, historical, and natural richness of Lake Titicaca. During this journey, you will sail across its deep blue waters, visit ancestral communities, and share unforgettable moments with local families who keep their traditions alive.

This excursion combines nature, Andean culture, traditional handicrafts, and local cuisine, making it one of the best activities for travelers who want to discover the most authentic side of the Puno region.

Uros & Taquile Full-Day Tour Itinerary

7:00 a.m. – Hotel Pick-up and Transfer to Puno Port : Our adventure begins with pick-up from your accommodation located in the tourist area of Puno. We will head to the main port, where we will board a tourist boat and begin our navigation across the majestic Lake Titicaca.

Our first destination will be the famous Uros Floating Islands, located approximately 30 minutes by boat from the port.

Visit to the Uros Floating Islands : Upon arrival at the floating islands, you will discover one of the most unique cultural expressions of the Peruvian highlands. These artificial islands are traditionally built using totora reeds, an aquatic plant that grows in the lake and plays an essential role in the daily life of the Uros community.

During the visit, our guide will share information about the history, customs, and lifestyle of this community, which has developed a special relationship with the environment of Lake Titicaca.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Visit traditional homes made from totora reeds.
• Learn about ancestral construction techniques.
• Observe local handicraft demonstrations.
• Take photographs of the incredible lake landscapes.
• Share experiences with community families.

Optionally, you can enjoy a traditional totora reed boat ride (approximately S/15 – S/20 per person, not included), an experience that allows you to feel closer to the traditions of the ancient lake navigators.

The visit to the Uros Floating Islands lasts approximately 1 hour.

Navigation to Taquile Island

After visiting the Uros Islands, we will continue our boat ride towards the beautiful Taquile Island, located approximately two hours away.

During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views of Lake Titicaca, surrounded by Andean mountains and natural landscapes that make this area one of the most special places in Peru.

Hiking and Cultural Experience on Taquile Island

Upon arrival in Taquile, we will begin a walk to discover the charms of this traditional island.

The walk lasts approximately one and a half hours:

First part: A moderate uphill walk of around 30 minutes, including some sections with stairs.
Second part: A more relaxed walk along island trails, with flat areas and a descent.

Along the way, you will admire impressive views of Lake Titicaca and learn about the customs of its inhabitants, who preserve a community organization based on cooperation and respect for their traditions.

Traditional Lunch with a Local Family : To complete this cultural experience, you will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by a local family.

Taquile’s cuisine is known for using regional products such as:

• Fresh lake trout.
• Quinoa.
• Andean potatoes.
• Local vegetables.

Vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request at the time of booking.

A special aspect of this experience is that families work through an organized rotation system, allowing different households to welcome visitors and benefit directly from responsible tourism.

4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. | Return to Puno City

After a day full of culture and unforgettable landscapes, we will begin our return by boat to the port of Puno.

During the journey, there may be a short stop at a local community along the way, depending on the needs of other passengers.

Arrival will be approximately between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., ending the service at hotels located near the Plaza de Armas of Puno.

For accommodations outside the tourist center, an additional transfer fee may apply.

Important Note During the Tour : Throughout the visit, you will find small family-run stalls where local residents offer handmade crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.

If you wish to purchase a souvenir, we recommend bringing cash in local currency. Purchases are completely optional; the most important part is enjoying the cultural encounter and the Lake Titicaca experience.
