Experience an unforgettable adventure in the Peruvian Andes as you explore the majestic Ausangate Mountain and the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). This trek takes you through remote landscapes, high mountain passes, and traditional Andean communities that preserve their ancestral traditions and way of life.
Day 1: Cusco – Tinqui – Upis
Your adventure begins with an early hotel pick-up in Cusco at 6:00 a.m. We travel by private transportation through the picturesque towns of Urcos, Ccatca, and Ocongate, enjoying panoramic views of the Vilcanota Mountain Range.
Upon arrival in Tinqui, the starting point of the trek, we begin hiking toward Upis, passing through rural landscapes, streams, and small Andean communities.
In the afternoon, you may choose to visit Upis Lagoon or relax in the natural hot springs. The day concludes with a warm dinner and a spectacular star-filled sky.

Day 2: Upis – Arapa Pass – Yanacocha – Pucacocha
We start early, ascending toward Arapa Pass (4,850 m / 15,912 ft), where breathtaking views of Ausangate Mountain and its glaciers await.
From the pass, we descend toward stunning glacial lakes such as Yanacocha and Pucacocha, surrounded by colorful landscapes and Andean wildlife. This day offers a perfect combination of physical challenge and extraordinary scenery.

Day 3: Pucacocha – Ananta – Suriniqocha – Queullacocha
This is one of the most demanding and rewarding days of the trek. We ascend to Puca Qocha Pass (over 5,000 m / 16,404 ft), surrounded by colorful mountains and glacial lagoons.
We then enter the spectacular Red Valley, a surreal landscape unlike any other in the world. After lunch in Ananta, we continue toward Surini Pass, where we enjoy our first distant view of Rainbow Mountain.
We end the day at the Queullacocha campsite.

Day 4: Queullacocha – Rainbow Mountain – Red Valley – Alqatari
Today we visit the highlight of the trek: the iconic Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca).
We depart early to arrive before the crowds, allowing plenty of time to explore, take photographs, and appreciate this unique natural wonder.
Afterward, we visit the magnificent Red Valley, a less-visited yet equally impressive destination. We then descend to Alqatari, where we spend the night.

Day 5: Alqatari – Ausangate Lagoon – Palomani Pass – Sorapata
Today we reach the highest point of the trek: Palomani Pass (5,099 m / 16,729 ft).
Along the route, we pass colorful lagoons, high-altitude grasslands, and observe local wildlife such as alpacas and llamas. The panoramic views of the Vilcanota Mountain Range are simply unforgettable.
After crossing the pass, we descend toward Sorapata, where our campsite awaits.

Day 6: Sorapata – Seven Ausangate Lakes – Pacchanta – Cusco

We then arrive in Pacchanta, where you can relax in the natural hot springs while enjoying magnificent views of Ausangate Mountain.
After lunch, we return to Cusco by private transportation, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Day 1: Cusco – Tinqui – Ausangate Mountain – Upis
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Cusco to Tinqui, the gateway to the Ausangate region. From here, hike through traditional Andean landscapes with spectacular views of the majestic Ausangate Mountain before reaching the campsite at Upis.
Day 2: Upis – Jatun Pucacocha Lagoon
Continue trekking through high-altitude terrain surrounded by glaciers, colorful valleys, and herds of alpacas. The trail leads to the stunning Jatun Pucacocha Lagoon, one of the most beautiful glacial lakes in the Ausangate Circuit.
Day 3: Ausangate Glacier – Apacheta Pass – Ausangatecocha Lake – Palomani Pass – Valley – Pampacancha
This challenging day takes you close to the impressive Ausangate Glacier. Cross the sacred Apacheta Pass and continue past the beautiful Ausangatecocha Lake. After reaching Palomani Pass, the highest point of the trek, descend through spectacular mountain valleys to the Pampacancha campsite.
Day 4: Huchuy Finaya – Qomercocha Lagoon – Ticllacocha Lakes
Hike through remote Andean landscapes and traditional pastoral communities. The trail passes the beautiful Qomercocha Lagoon and the picturesque Ticllacocha Lakes, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains and highland scenery.
Day 5: Qomercocha Lagoon – Pacchanta
Enjoy a scenic descent toward the traditional village of Pacchanta. Along the way, admire breathtaking views of the Ausangate massif, colorful lagoons, and Andean wildlife. Upon arrival, relax in the famous natural hot springs of Pacchanta.
Day 6: Pacchanta – Ausangate Mountain – Ausangate Viewpoints – Cusco
